I'm working on a new web site and it would be helpful to know your screen resolution... just the width actually.
Go here if you don't already know: http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/
Note the number before the "x" ("1280x720" = "1280")
Vote.
Thanks!

They have a website for everything now huh? :wierd:
1280x1024 on the desktop, 1440x900 on the laptop.
Damn you must have some good eyes john, or one helluva wide monitor. Have you seen a new 24" iMac? While I do hate Macs, I will have to say it is a very nice screen that puts my 19" LCD to shame.

1920x1200. 28" monitor. As a general rule, windows aren't full screen either.
If you're set on developing for a specific width, no more than 1024.

Wow... just wow.
I don't even want to sit in front of a computer long enough to need that kinda space on my screen. That setup in only nessesary if you do a lot of development work and/or you've only have contact with other humans via that webcam sitting up there.
BTW, Macs still bring the suck.

Years ago the norm for building a website was 800x600. Alot of people still stick to this. Honestly in the many years ive been working on computers now, ive only seen a small handful of people @ 800x600, and those were ladies who "thought" they needed it that way in order to see everything better.
Ive built a few in the past few years, and since "most" people now use at least 1024x768, i built them around those specs. That is of course if your limiting yourself to a fixed width. You could also build the site to stretch depending on the browser window size, or screen resolution. You would still however need a baseline resolution to build off of.
For what its worth my resolution is:
1680 x 1050

If I can just eliminate 640x480 I'll be happy! I like the way this poll is shaping up.

1600x1200 at work on 2 20". much lower with the home machine.
I set my webpage up at 900pix for the width, seems to be about the same for yahoo and other sites. look good on the high res big screen and still fits on the lower res 15"-17" screens. But I am no expert by amy means. What is the site for Billy?

Screw you guys, I run 1024 on my IBM thinkpad and 1280 on my bigger LCD's, if I went higher I'd need a pair of 2x reading glasses...
