Well, I hope it wasn't a plane crash. I live in the path of departing flights from John Wayne Airport.

The shaking only lasted 5 seconds. But it hit hard. Knocked over a couple of things.

Well, it was just a 3.1 centered near Jamboree and Ford, just north of Newport Fashion Island. I live just across the Back Bay from the epicenter.

Probably the only other NAXJA person who might have felt it would be Santa or Rollins.

But it was a fun ride.

Well, I've been through enough and don't want to go through anymore... but, the "BIG ONE" is going to hit sooner or later....

I did not feel it, but our house did make a loud noise about that time. I just thought it was settling.

Nothing here in Escondido....
A 3.1.... that is NOTHING..... unless you are right on top of it...
After living thru the Northridge quake and its several thousand after shocks; nothing less than a 5.0 gets my attention....

Yup, you gotta figure we had three big ones in a 7-year period. Whittier in 87, Landers in 92, and Northridge in 94. And now it's been 14 years...

Johnny you forgot the Hector Mine Quake M7.1 in 1999.

I was in Big Bear for the Big Bear and landers quakes. Talk about a ride.

I was in Big Bear also, We had rented a cabin by the lake and if I remember wasn't it at Night? anyway, the Cabin was a three story, and I swear it was going down. Best quake I have ever felt.

Early morning. The Landers quake was at about 5am, Big Bear at 8am. Friends of our family have a house in BB. I was sleeping on a couch in the living room and woke up to the shaking. I looked up to a 8' wagon wheel style chandolier swinging above my head.
