np242 SYE?

Replicate Go-Jeeps SYE method
Although it isn't easy on a +1996 242 because of the external seal. I am swapping my tcase out for an earlier model so the Yoke I use isn't hanging off the end of the bloody case by a mile!
 
Read this http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/re_sye.html, It explains the H&T. "E" Bay has a bunch of the kits for sale.
You will also need a late model XJ front driveshaft (about $50 from most junk yards) & spicer part # 211229X.
Its easier than it looks, Just take your time while drilling & tapping the hole, Or see if a local shop can do the whole Job for you if you are uncomfortable doing it.

I did my hack n tap on my 97 with 242 aw4 d44 and about 6" lift and I love it
 
I have a NP 242 and use the Rubicon Express that othersd mention on my Jepp. I love it - I know it works great because I never have had an issue with it and forgot about it because it has no issues at all.
