3rd brake light problems....

i just replaced the bulbs in my 97 cherokee for the brake lights, and the third one on the top of the hatch with a new bulb, and it doesn't work. the wires are in good shape, and the socket assembly is good, nothing is corroded, what could possibly be the problem? is there a fuse that i don't know about, and if anyone else has had this problem, how did you fix it?:smsoap:

My first guess would be a broken wire. Check the harnesses at the top of the hatch. I have to repair a wire for my wiper/washer on my "to do" list as every time I open the hatch while the ignition is on, the wiper starts running and the sprayer starts spraying!!!! :doh:
