running ruff after hot soak

i got a 00 xj with 11000k.. it been running ruff after a hot soak.. i go for a trail run and shut it off start it up a few minuts later and is runs badd for a few munits.. kinda like its overfueled... changed the plugs in the summer and airfilter.. been running bad all summer... there is no engine light on. tryed some injector cleaner.. pulled plugs all look good.. anysuggestions..?? and its getting poor gas milage..

Sounds to me like an 02 sensor.

The heat sometimes causes the fuel in the #3 injector to vaporize and that causes the rough start. That's what it was on my 01 XJ. There is a Factory Service Bulletin on this.

i had a o2 sensor changed due to engine light on.. did nothing execpt turn off the light.. maybe i will bring it in and get the scope hooked up to it..

my 01 does the same thing, Ive learned to live with it. I also ripped out all that foil junk under the injectors and it doesnt do it as much.

probably have a leaking injector and your running to rich for the first minute or two, our 90 did that changed the # 4 injector and problem went away
