Hey Guys,
I live in downtown Boston and looking to lift my 2000 cherokee. I have a shop that has some basic tools down in Plympton Ma that I can do work on my jeep but I was wondering if there was anyone with a shop that would be willing to help me install a lift on my jeep in exchange for some beer and some cash. I'm mechanically inclined but more on the construction side so I don't have a lot of experience working on jeeps. I'm looking to lift my jeep in the coming month or so, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete

I could help you out, but don't have a garage/shop/driveway.... I do my work on the street in mission hill or go to my dad's. But if you need another set of hands I know from experience the more the merrier

I don't mean to hijack but I'm getting transferred there this summer (U.S.C.G.) and wouldn't mind lending an extra set of hands and some lift install and Jeep mechanical experience when I get there!! I have one question for you guys from the Boston area, Is there anyplace good to wheel LEGALLY in the area? I'm used to Rausch Creek Off Road park and Paragon. Thanks, and I hope I can give you a hand if needed sometime or go wheelin'!!

yeah I'll be willing to help, send me a PM or something when you need it. I guess there's no legal places near here, the best thing is joining a club to wheel out in western mass

Another trail just closed down that is somewhat accessible from Boston, so maybe by the time you get here, there might not be any real places to go. NH and Maine have some good places, but I have yet to go there.
As for the original poster. I would like to help, but I barely have time to work on my own Jeep, I have a lot of stuff going on. If you run into any problems, post it up here, I probably have run into them before.

Hey Carman,
Sorry, I've been meaning to send you a message saying I got the coils. Thanks for them. I probably won't get to put them in for another month or so, I need to get my HP44 built first, then I'll put them in when I do the swap.

hey guys sorry for the late response. I appreciate your willingness to help, unfortunately I've had a family medical emergency that has taken most of my free time over the past few weeks. I'll let you guys know when I'm thinking about installing the lift. Thanks agian I really appreciate it.

No problem man, I saw that they were delivered and I assumed no news was good news. :D

hey guys,
long time since I've been on here, I appreciate the good wishes. My mom luckily pulled through and is finally back home after 6 months in the hospital.
I've finally got the money to put a lift in, I'm thinking of going with a 3" OME with OME shocks. I need to install a new trackbar, new control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, fan clutch and front bearings/hubs.
But ultimately if anyone could help me just install the lift I'd be greatly appreciative. I'm willing to throw some beers or compensation your way. I'm more than willing to help, just need the tools and some experience.

Good choice with the OME stuff. Figure it'll take a few afternoons worth of work, assuming that lots of stuff will go wrong and if it goes smoothly consider it a bonus. I'll be living in Allston by that point and miiight have access to a driveway, so keep me posted on when you'd need a hand

I might be able to use my buddy's driveway up in Belmont, but I'm not sure I have all the tools that are needed.
I'm currently living downtown in Beacon Hill so theres not many places to work on it down there.

After giving it some more thought I could use my old boss's landscaping shop down in Plympton. He's got an air compressor and a decent set of tools. Might be an option.
