i pulled into the driveway today and noticesd this black hose dragging under the jeep. it attaches on the top side of the front dana 30. it looks like some sort of breather hose. what is it, and where does it connect to in the engine compartment?or does it? anything will help...

it is a vent hose. it is attached, or should be attached to the frame rail on the drivers side.

when you say attached do you mean like zip tied to the frame rail or does the end of the hose actuall go onto something.

Just get you a new piece of hose and run it up high and attach it to something om your firewall.

do i need to put a regulator onthe end of the hose so water n mud wont get in it or is it fine open

Just make sure the end of the hose runs downward about 4 inches. I think the vent hose already has a metal end that points downward that you can reuse. I drilled a hole in my wiper cowl and ran all of my vent hoses into there and attached small K&N style filters to them just to make sure I never got water into anything, but it's not really neccesary unless you play in the deep water.
