I know I read on here somewere about upgrading my 27 spline c8.25 to 29 spline but i can't find it. Does anybody recall this thread? If so can you help a brother out?

take old one out put new one in and use new u-bolts good to go

If you are talking about upgrading as in keeping the same housing, you will need to take out your old c-clip shafts, pull the carrier, replace the side gears with the new 29 spline side gears, then put the carrier back in and put the new 29 spline shafts in.

You have to change the carrier also!

Yes the carriers are not the same! The side gears for a 29 spline will not fit into the 27 spline carrier. I have tried it and it will not work.

Thanks for the info guys, maybe I will just buy a new c8.25 so i dont have to deal with the bs.
