They were thinking "Gee, lets make money this year"

Face it, the reason Jeep is no longer an off-road legend is our fault. Yep..that right, us, we are the reason. By keeping our vehicles longer and not buying new models that are more off-road friendly there is no reason for an automaker to offer them. Sorry...but mass appeal is taking the lead, we and the off-road community in general do not spend enough money to matter.

Wanna brand new off-road capable vehicle....buy an import.

Thats sadly true. The new Nissan Titan is one of the most capeable trucks to come out in a long time in my opinion. A 5.6L V8 with 305hp/380ftlbs, with options like 33's,lower gearing and a 9500lb towing capacity...And the fact that a couple days ago I pulled up next to one at a light with the optional 33's and with my 5" lift and 33's he still had a few inches in height and a small amount of ground clearance more. Plus the way that V8 sounded when he took off just made me want one more.

um... Power Wagon? Rubicon Unlimited?

regardless, the best 4x4s are overseas. I want a Land Cruiser 70, mid wheelbase:

I said "capeable truck" :D

but yes the power wagon is very capeable, but since he said imports thats why I said Nissan. And I should've been more specific, I meant most capeable "import", since that's what he was talking about. If I had the choice between the Nissan and a brand new Ram,...I'd take the ram in a heart beat.

Nothing wrong with an unlimited. If I had to get something to replace the xj(other than another one of course), it'd be that or something with a lot of tube.

i hate that commercial and i think that jeep has sold out. they keep their 'trail rated" commander so people still recognize JEEP as the rugged offroad capable company that it has always been.
though you have to agree with Rev. how many of us still have amc cherokees, how many pre 97s. im going to say over 60 percent if not 70.

its actually pretty sad, but not to surprising that mid size off road capable vehicles are being produced less and less. people still need trucks for towing and worksites and such. but it seems as though more and more people are learning to dislike offroading, probably because of their misunderstanding of what we are about. ( most people around me think that we are stupid kids messing around)
so what reason would jeep have for producing thousands of vehicles that no one would buy...

sorry i got angry because as i was typing the commercial came on

I hate the commercials but have to admit, the song is one of those songs that are hard to get out of the f'in head. So its a good song for the marketing strategy.

I would never buy one.
