These were designed with the idea of the most rigid mounting base in mind. Thats part of the reason we offer 2 instead of a 1 size fits all kind of plate.
The first one is for Jeeps and has both the 4.5" & 5.5" patterns, each has all five holes cut to the correct wheel stud size. You don't have to use them all but I thought the option may disuade theives a little when they have to remove 5 bolts rather than just a couple. The hole in the middle is to aid in centering the plate and then add a plug weld. They are 3/8" thick to help absorb vibration without metal fatigue.
The next is for the GM / Ford 8 lug and the Chevy / Toyota 6 lug pattern, Same plate with both patterns, only way to get at least 4 lugs for the bigger tires run on full size axles. Same 3/8" thick.....Check'em out when you get a chance, we are adding a couple of new sections to the website.....
