JK rubi axle? What gives?

Peterson's has a tech article in april 08 page 29-31 And it states it is a 65.5" axle, I have also heard this, and seen it elsewhere too, but http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?jeep-sid=353&plID=354&partID=15586 & http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?jeep-sid=353&plID=354&partID=15587 list 61.9" Which is true, and what is the real spec on these axles?

65.5" is the "track width", where as 61.9" is the WMS to WMS width.

I bought one of these to put under my '87 xj, and i ended up having to cut pretty much all of the original brackets of..i.e. spring perches, track bar..and may have to relocate the lower c.a. mounts..and i had to do something different with my wheels(bolt pattern)..hope it's worth it..but it's got to be better than that stinkin' d30. Oh yeah, can't find the male connector for the E-locker..still workin on that too. but i did buy it direct from dodge/jeep and got a better price and no freight charge.

Something to consider with this swap.
