on stu olsons sit he says you have to double flare the brake lines..anyone know why this has to be done..is the line too long or is it a diffrent fitting that the cherokee line ??

You need to cut the line to shorten it. You're using a flex hose to go to the caliper so that is where the extra length come sin at. All steel brake lines are double flare of safety reasons. Stainless steel brake lines are bubble. The SS is to hard to do a double flare with.

One reason you have to double flare the brake lines is because the fitting rides on the back of the flare. Cracks can form on the back of the flare when tightened.
