well if it wasn't sleeved youd be bitching about all the bushings you put in it, i had to cut mine out too the 5 bucks was worth it. If i didn't want to pony up for a bolt then i may be in the wrong pastime

I did an add-a-leaf on my 93, and I just took the spring pack apart without removing the main leaf. It was trickey putting it back together, but I thought it was better than fighting with those bolts.

What kind of sissy only uses a 3# sledge to work on their Jeep?

3#? That isn't even a sledge - that's just a smallish cross-peen hammer. Hell, my drilling hammers are 4# and 5#!
That doesn't mean it won't come in handy (a mechanic should have a broad assortment of hammer masses and materials - rawhide, rubber, brass, lead, steel; and from 1/2 to 10 pounds) but anything under 10# doesn't deserve the moniker "sledgehammer" to me... I've had axes that are heavier than that...

Actually I must say...
I do not own a Sawzall.
Never have!
Been meaning to get one for years now, but every time I get around to pulling the trigger something else comes up.
I do all my cutting with an angle or die grinder. So instead of an nice round arc I'm more likly to cut a \_/ ;)

I dont have a sawzall either :dunno:
6" blade on the angle grinder works just fine for me. Although I do have a sawzall at work and after using it to "modify" the exhaust on my other car I think I may be in the market for one...

My big mistake was not cutting that bolt out sooner. I was so afraid of loosing the nut that I worked on it for a couple of hours. The driver side leaf came out with no problems. So far, no broken nuts. That includes the rear shock mounts. I'm gonna get BPE's for my OME's. Hopefully, I can finish the rear tonight and start in on the front. My rig is a daily and I may have to rent until I can get it finished and aligned.

I stand corrected...mine is a drilling hammer - like these http://www.amazon.com/b/002-6122526-4989609?ie=UTF8&node=553200
...anything under 10# doesn't deserve the moniker "sledgehammer"
Now, now. 'Sledge' is a form of hammer, not any particular weight, as here http://www2.shopping.com/xPF-3lb_Sledge_Hammer
Other forms are cross-peen http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/sjdiscounttools_1907_33364036 and drilling, as shown in the above link.
Certainly, my 10# sledgehammer comes in handy, but not usually while lying on my back under the heep, or inside the engine compartment. A 3# sledge is more than adaquate to disassemble a vehicle.
ps - If your axe weighs over 10#, you're wasting alot of energy. If it is sharp, there is no need for great weight. Even this double bit http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/ProductImages/axes/129625.jpg has only a 2.2# head.

If I have a 3# sledge but haven't used it yet does that mean I f'd something up on my install?
JKS says you can't use their BPE's with OME shocks. I used one washer on each shock and the pin lined up perfectly. What gives? The BPE's fit nice and tight in the OME poly bushing I'd hate to not use them...
Question. Do I really have to disconnect the steering linkage at the pitman arm to install the front end? I forgot to PB blast those bolts. I'm installing the RE4.5 with full leafs and the HD track bar. Rears already done. Thanks for your help!

No, but it will help immensely for getting the coils in.
