I ran into these folks at camp on a recent run..........totally amazing. Found them smoking the clutch in their Suburu on a real rocky section of road around Meadow Lake, CA.

No idea who he is, but looks like he's a fan of the right rugby team.

I think it's a photo chopped pic. There is no way in hell he could leave pavement. :D

Yeah, he left the pavement all right..........in his Subaru. :looser:
I almost had to get out the strap to pull him off of a 3" rock on the road close to the lake. But they did join us, and actually set up camp and spent the night.

At least his style hasn't changed much. It is improving though. He actually made it all the way to the end of the trail, even if he drove around it in a momma wagon. :D

Damn, it took you a long time to post up, Richard!
Yes, it's true. A subaru outback, while fun in the twisties, doesn't crawl very well. I got to enjoy my favorite part of wheeling (Campire BS) but didn't have to weld a steering box, change an axle, wait for my overheated engine to cool down, or replace my driveshaft. All-in-all a good compromise.
Emma is a happy healthy 3YO ready to wheel. Just gotta get daddy a bit more ready.

It took me awhile to get my pictures up. :)
It was great to see you and Marni. However, next time it needs to be on the trail.....with your Jeep!
