Hi y'all, I've been working as a manufacturing engineer in Tulsa, Ok for the past six months and things were going well, but my boss just got fired last Friday. Don't know how that will affect me but I figure I should hedge my bets and see what else is out there. So I check the local classified and see that Ramsey is looking for a manufacturing engineer! That could be a sweet situation. How are they doing? I read a press release saying that they were bought out in 07 by Gridiron Capital. This could be good or bad. So does anyone here work for Ramsey or know anything about their situation? Thanks.

Couldn't hurt to apply and try to get an interview. As I'm sure you know companies like Gridiron usually buy what they think are inefficiently run companies that have some potential for growth, sweat out costs and then try to spin off the company a couple of years later for a profit. Often the company has to struggle under paying the debt used to buy them out so they may be operating under the added expense of that. Ask about that at the interview.
Still, a job's a job and they do have an interesting line, both in the consumer world as well as industrial winches and their crane division. Might get trips to some interesting places out of it. Also saw where they just bought a some sort of planetary gear maker.

I walked in about a year ago and was greeted very profesionally. The receptionist got a marketing guy right out to see me and anser my questions. This may not seem odd but they don't sell retail at the factory. Overall I was impressed with the operation and would apply. Getting a good job comes with practicing interview skills anyway so at least try for an interview so you can get practice.
