4X4 shift linkage photo needed please!

I seem to be missing a part or two on my 4X4 shift linkage assy. It is an 87 Wagoneer, 4.0 L, NP 242, stock. I can move the shaft that sits or rides inside the side of the AW4 case to the right and left about 4-5 inches, in fact I can nearly pull that shaft all the way out, which if I did would bind up and or or let the linkage come apart. It looks like something is missing that should be holding that shaft all the way inside the side of the AW4. I have not been able to find any drawings in my FSM of that area or in the Haynes book. If you have a drawing or have or can take a picture of a complete linkage near the AW4 and NP242 from the under side, can you please post it here.
