Tranny Cooler Line Routing?

I have searched but really did not find a good answer. I am plumming in an aux. tranny cooler and bypassing the stock radiator one.

The rubber lines route better if I put the line from the tranny (output) into the lower inlet on the cooler and the upper outlet from the cooler to the line back into the tranny (input).

In the past I always would put the line from the tranny into the top and back to the tranny from the bottom.

Does it really matter which way it flows through the cooler?

Just flow from the top down, not sure that it matters either. But that is how the stock trans cooler works in the radiator.

The coolant also flows from the top to the bottom of the radiator. Maybe there's a reason, who knows. :)

Heat rises. Hot coolant comes in the top of radiator, cooled coolant goes out the bottom of the radiator into the water pump.
