just wondering if i can run different gear ratio's
3.55 on the rear and 3.07 on the front
i plan to run 3.55 front and rear but would swap each axle at a time each weekend
if i only use rear wheel drive on my t-case would it be ok to do so??
thanks for your time!

As long as you don't put it in 4WD.

To be on the safe side, you could remove your front driveshaft.

all i need to know thanks guys!
i got the axle out now and no i.d tag, it came outta an 88 or so XJ wagoneer model with a 4.0 inline six and auto tranny, it should be 3.55, i hope im correct!

Assuming it's a Dana axle, there should be a BOM stamped in the passenger tube, facing aft. You can look it up at http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?DSD~deabill~4~ to see what gears it started with. Or just count the teeth on the pinion and ring gear if you're pulling the cover.

If you have the cover off count the ring and pinion then divide ring by the pinion then you have your ratio.
