Another fuel problem...

Hey all, just noticed in the last couple of days that my fuel consumption has really tanked. I usually get 14-16 mpg and am now around 5 or 6 mpg. I suspect an o2 sensor but could be wrong. What do ya'll think?

Specs: 6" RE lift with drop brackets. D30 and 8.25 with 4.56 on 33" BFG MT.

Calculate your actual mileage (gallons consumed divided by miles driven) for a few weeks. I do it every time I fill up with gas. You need a number of samples in order to know if your mileage has truly dropped.

Keep in mind that winter fuel formulations and cold weather are also responsible for reduced mileage. (oxygenated fuel, longer open loop, etc)

Sounds like you may already be keeping a close eye on your fuel mileage...
If an O2 sensor is causing the problem, sometimes you can detect the richer smell of gasoline in your exhaust, and/or the tailpipe starting to get black or sooty on the end...
