I found this free 4x4 game called 1nsane. You can download crawling maps and a ton of diffrent jeeps and buggies for it. I got the game from a bit-torrent download but it think you can get it at http://www.insaneheat.com/ You might have to register first .

i don't think you can get it from that site listed above, i couldn't find it anyway. i downloaded it as a torrent as well. do a Google search for 1nsane full game and you should be able to find the torrents. that site listed above will let you download new maps and cars though.

i don't have the extra maps... which is disappointing. but i do have 3 different XJs...

if anyone has a way to host the game files, from what i remember, all you have to do is copy them to your hard drive, no "installing"... just launch the game from the folder it's in. (or create a shortcut)

i hope those links work for you once you register at that site, if they dont work, then register at that website and then click "searches" then "vehicles" then type in XJ and it comes up with the 2dr and the jeepspeed i think, then type cherokee and you get the 4dr. for the map do the same but got to "searches" then "maps" and then type in viper trails.

did you download utorrent or a program like that? that is what i use, there are other programs out there though. http://www.utorrent.com/ you may have to download a couple different torrent files. i did the one that was a zipped file. but here this looks like its got a few torrent files to download. http://www.torrentz.com/b14c37f4cff1ea967004ead8f0b8981e89f7130f also, the zipped on i got i think i found using the search function on utorrent.

after you install a program like utorrent, you can open these torrent files and they will download fully through utorrent, or whatever program you decide to use.

just a heads up the file could take awhile to download. i had to re-download yesterday, as my computer took a dump on me, and it took a long time!

That JeepSpeed XJ is great for racing... The suspension is perfect. Huge jumps and no flips... :)

Thanks for all the help! I finally got it all figured out, but for some reason it's downloading at a blazing speed of 5 kb/s with broadband. At this rate it's going to take me days to get it completely done.:nono:

yeah mine did too, not sure why. maybe because it wasnt getting it from many people? i dunno but yeah it was slow i just left it going over night.:dunno: maybe someone else knows why it downloads so slow, sorry i dont know.

i dont think it matters, once the game is downloaded, you just drop the "car file" in the file called vehicles and do the same for maps. but i think you can only have a certain amount of maps, not positive. but yeah it takes forever!

um, on the screen that says pick your vehicle and pick your map and whatever else it says. type in "ineedmoremaps" and see if it will unlock them for you. thats what i have to do and at the same place you type in "ineedmorecars" and get the locked cars. let me know if you understand that.

have you downloaded them yet?

yeah, you might have too many maps. I'm almost positive i saw somewhere over on insaneheat.com that you can only have a certain amount of maps, but i don't remember the number.

Try worldtraveller for maps and fillmygarage for cars. They are the european version codes if I remeber correctly, but they are what worked for me.

i'd like to try out some MP... but after clearing out some of the old maps, and adding a bunch of vehicles, my game will run, but when i try to launch a practice or do a race, the game crashes back to windows... and the new maps aren't showing up, and i dont' think all the new vehicles are either...
suggestions?

did you look on the first page of this thread? it tells you how. there are no xj's in the game as you download it, you have to add them in after its downloaded. and you download them from that site mentioned on the first page. read the first page of the thread you should be able to figure it out.

I know a guy that help make the game, and i talk to 2 vehicle makers sometimes. I havent played much in the last 2 years but im pretty good. Gamespy is the best way to go, IP is a hit/miss deal. Sometimes it works someties it doesnt.

It wont work unless the hoster is on his server. Its not like halo etc, its a temporary server. If the host leaves you loose connection!

Another cool thing is Insane SwissKnife.

It allows you to run the game in a window, allow Alt-Tabbing, etc. Also direct access to multiplayer setup.

Ok guys. The HOST+ Host ip HAS to be on the server for it to work. So when he closes his game, that server is no longer. Its like the admin of naxja. If he closes internet. THen no one else can get on. (not true its a 24/7 server)
