YJ rear shocks?

So, I know YJ font shocks are about 3"s longer, how about the rears?
Are they any longer than stock XJ rears?

From what I understand stock MJ rear shocks are about 3" longer than stock XJ shocks.

Do MJ rear shocks have bar pins like XJ's, Or will I have to go with a set of BPE's?

they do not have bar pins. they also do not have sleeves in the eye bushings, which depending on what you're doing, makes them easier to deal with than zj(or yj?) shocks. bpe's should work well with the mj units. i used mj shocks with my bb, pressed the bar pin out of the old shocks and popped it into the mj shocks. it was super easy and they have worked out perfectly.

I'd probably do the same you did and just press them out and re-use them. I just wanted to make sure they will work and are in fact, longer than stock.
I assume all years are the same?

they are almost exactly 3" longer than stock when extended and all years are the same: 86-92, you're good.
