There is a good bit of us in GA and the Carolinas. You'll see people post up rides going on, it seems like somebody is going somewhere every other weekend. If you want to make a 2.5 hour trip on Saturday, you can meet up with a few of us in Cullowhee, NC. It's nothing too difficult but it's a fun, legal ride. I checked google maps and you live about the exact distance from there as I do and I'm heading up for a day trip and coming home Saturday evening. Let me know. If not, I know the 16th people will be at Devils Playground and the next weekend people will be at Callantee.

We used to ride motorcycles and 4wheelers down there. People still do but if you get caught it's a $687 fine. The police will come out on atv's sometimes.

Well look me up sometime. If ya see a white XJ that's armored up with black panels, that's me. Gulches is about the only legal place. There used to be a few spots but over the last 5 years they've been developed or we no longer had permission.

Sounds good, problem is that I'm 17 until August. I'll just get my parents to sign the waivers before I go.

Im in the Lake Norman area, the Lincoln County side. I would love to get together with fellow XJers if yall would let me know what is going on.....
I also have access to random tools, such as a plasma arc and welding machines, if anyone needs SIMPLE TAKE OFF stuff worked on.... I dont have time for serious stuff like building bumpers or making long arms, but if you have a broken piece that just needs simple repair, I'll try to make it happen....

That allows offroading? The only place I've been that allows is Fort Fisher just below Wilmington and another place in Carolina Beach 15 minutes above Ft. Fisher.

I am from North Augusta, SC. I wheel an 89' XJ Black. It has a 4" lift consisting of TrailMaster coils, rubicon express extended control arms, JKS swaybar disconnect, front superlift shocks and rear has trailmaster add-a-leaf and rough country 2" lift shackles with trailmaster shocks and energy suspension poly leafspring bushings. The motor, tranny and transfer have 15,000 miles on rebuild and the rear has a stock locker out of a wrangler thanks to my last gulches trip. I am fixing to order new bumpers and a winch. I am running 33/12.5r15 MT Baja Claws.

Bishopville SC,
And about 20 minutes from here...in Kershaw County...is a service road for the gas company. It goes on for miles, mostly sand, but looks promising for a free ride in the woods. NOT one rock!
