Newly Installed Motor Mount ??

I just installed new motor mounts f/Autozone this past Sunday. After the installation I noticed what sounds like a grinding or klanking sound upon takeoff or when I hit a large bump in the road I would hear a large thunk or klunck sound ing like it's coming f/the front passengers side of the motor.

I went and looked this evening and noticed that there is a small gap (~1/8" or so) were the motor mount and the brace that the cross bolt goes thru... Is this normal or could this be causing the noise I'm hearing? I don't believe there's the same gap on the drivers side. Shouldn't this fit be very snug between the motor mount and the actual mount/bracket itself?

i don't think there is suppose to be a a gap. when you go over a bump your most likely throwing off the balance.
