There are a lot of us around the Portland Area. Come on up.
Why the Move? School? Work? Dehydrated and looking for a rainy clmate?

Which part of VA are you in???
Currently I am in Lynchburg, but Portland is my hometown....I will be the first one to tell you that the NorthWest is a great part of the country, there are some great places to go wheel within a relatively short distance.
Hope you like it.

welcome to the great PNW ! there are tons of jeep clubs and general 4X4 clubs as well. just search google and you'd be amazed at how many are in the Portland / Vanc area. if your an XJ guy though, my advice would be to stick with NAXJA. there are quite a few of us in the portland / Vanc area also, and the group is growing bigger everyday. look forward to meeting and wheelin with you soon.

Tons of us here on NAXJA.
Portland is great...it rains basically all the time cept for like 2 months in the summer, its crowded with californians and foreigners (lots of them illegal), cost of living is high, wages are low, you can't pump your own gas, the rivers are dirty and gross with regular fecal spills in the OC/Milwaukie areas, and its still legal for all those braindead soccer moms in tahoe's to talk on their cell phones while they're on the road with you.
come on over! ;)

Portland is a barren wasteland uninhabited by jeepers

The only thing you have to watch out for are stincky hippies and deep mud puddles! I hope you like rain as well!

you picked portland?
sheesh!
i guess i'm a little biased but portland is too big city for me.
i almost dont like living in salem.
but every time i go to portland it makes me appreciate where i live!
and if you're looking for a club outside of naxja you should join the Octane Outlaws Association!
http://www.wingnutooa.proboards25.com
well there's really nothing saying that you can only be a member of one club anyway.
i'm just going to pay membership to naxja because i think of it more as an organization than a club, and i like the idea of it.
i guess its all personal perception though. some guys are devoted to naxja and others are members of a club and just come here because its one of the greatest resources available (if not THE greatest resource) for info on jeeps.....unless you have a stroker thread in the performance section.....
HEY but enough about me! hope you enjoy it here! and whatever you pick i know you'll be happy because the knuckle heads are few and far between!

well its not definite yet, as of know just an idea. ive heard its a nice city though and ive never been that far west. im young and i only live one so why not get out and see the country right? ive lived in the same area my whole life and i think ive had enough of it. glad to see i'd have some fellow jeepers out there though!

Call me biased, but I think Portland is a great city. Once you get past the hippy's, and the weather. You get all the perks of a big city, but you are also a very short drive away from some great outdoors areas. There are not a whole lot of other places you can live, that you can be an hour from the coast, and an hour from skiing, and an hour from windsurfing, etc.
If we could just find a way to keep the californians out, it would be even better.

Lol, I like how Bend/Central Oregon is 75% Californians now...
I've lived in Beavertown(beaverton), haha. Hillsburrito (hillsboro).. Grew up in Tualatin. Lived in Lake Oswego off country club.. Stay away from Clackamyass(Clackamas on the East side)... Tweakers and jackers.. Lake Oswego was by far the best town I've lived in.. I dont know about Salem..:anon:lol.
But I do like living outside of Portland. No commuting traffic, I'm an hour south. I've got lakes 10 minutes from my house as well as all the snow and mountains I can handle 10 minutes too!! I'm an hour and a half from Bend and I'm an hour+ from the beach. Also, an hour from downtown if I want to go hit up the bars and clubs on the weekend. Or Corvallis to go party. Lots of activist and weird ass people downtown tho..
Plenty of places to go wheelin and lots of helpful people around here. Humidity sucks! I don't know if I couldn't see myself living anywhere other than here...:farmer: My.02 cents

Man this guy is going to come here and get his ass kicked. "So your from incesticada huh?" "These people on the world wide web told me about this crazy place!" This is so off topic. I think we should all drive up to Mt Hood and roll up a zig zag :peace: :smoker:..............in Zig Zag.
You should really come out to Boring Oregon, that is where everything exciting happens!
