baffled about baffle

98 xj 4.0 what is the name, or part number of the baffle that is on the underside of the engine.. is it necessary? mine is all torn up and hanging down in places... should i replace it?

It's not neseccary...it's just to try and keep water and mud out of the engine bay a little better.

It is useless, all it really does is make clean-up harder.

I actually just give mine a good coat of armor-all today. Looks be-u-te-ful.
