You're welcome to poop at my place if you bring some air freshener. We're out.

By the way, I read you're PM but keep forgetting to call you. When are you going to be reunited with your cell?

Wondered if you were effected. I've got 6 ft piles of snow next to my driveway you can melt down................

Your family is welcome to come over to my house and bathe. Let K know.....I tried your cell but no one answered it at home.

So far they say the water will be back on by midnight tonight. (fingers are crossed)

DeadEyeJ has been without water for longer than I have. He's got two little ones and we can't imagine how they're doing.

Kristin went out and got some water. There's an LDS church somewhere nearby with water trucks. Golds Gym has opened up their showers for those affected by this little problem, and like I said, the Red Cross is involved.

Melting snow, which we too have a few hundred tons of the stuff, is not really time productive.

I'm not even home, and I'm already jonesing for a shower. By tomorrow, I'm sure my butt will be this dirty..... :moon:

:D

Good, glad there are some resources helping out. I heard on the news tonight that the patch job failed and they're going to have to replace a section of pipe. Could be late Saturday before water flows again to houses. Offer still stand if you need it.

If it's still out tomorrow, I'm just going to check them into a hotel somewhere for a few days.

I'm just about to leave Elko, NV in a few minutes. I'll see how things are tomorrow when I get home.

Dan.

6:45 am and still no water.

Water may come back on today, but it's not expected to be able to be drank or used for showering purposes until either Sunday or Monday. Toilet flushing only.

Seeing how I live just about the top of the area that's affected by this, it'll probably be Monday for us.

We'll be checking into a hotel this afternoon.

Bummer.

I was wondering why there was so much yellow snow in your neighborhood. :scared:

This kind of stuff really makes you wonder what would happen if there was some sort of large scale disaster with a long term power and water outage during this time of year. :helpme:

Been there! We had no power or heat during the winter 4 years ago for an entire week. Practically froze to death. I now have propane heaters in storage and plenty of candles, batteries, flashlights, etc. I know we should have several weeks supply of food & water stored but I don't have near enough space in my house to store more than a couple of days supply.

Hope they get you all up and running soon!

DeadEyeJ has been without water for longer than I have. He's got two little ones and we can't imagine how they're doing.

Our water turned off at about 3:00 PM Thursday and is currently still off, currently Saturday 5:45 PM. My parents are just a few miles away and we've been getting showers there.

I did have the memorable experience of hauling a 5 gallon bucket of water from my folks house, filling the toilet tank to finally flush some poopies down.

We had about 20 gallons of water storage, so we have enough to drink, brush teeth, and etc. We're probably going to the store soon to buy disposable paper dishes - our sink is mostly full of dirty ones now.

On a more positive note... I was the on call guy for work Thursday night and I stopped by and said "Hi" to the Ogden Water guys. I got them to call in an after hours Blue Stake request, which got me 2 hours of overtime pay. So I made a cool fifty bucks on all this mess!

UPDATE - our water is slowly being turned back on. It looks like ditch water and it's very low pressure. Hopefully the 36" busted main will hold the pressure this time... they say 3rd time's a charm! Here's hoping.

Sounding better, prolly flushing lines and clearing sludge. Don't get too anxious to drink it even after it looks clear, unless you want to be spending lots of time on the toilet........:scared:

We have close to 100 gals stored, plus what's in our 50 gal waterheater.

I ran the water for a long time and it's still coming out a bit dirty. This afternoon the city had (I presume) volunteers who drove around the affected areas giving out cases of water. One of the vols said they expect to have the line fixed and the water flowing this evening. The flyer they handed out said the same, along with an apology from the city. Sure nuff.....they got 'er done.

Well being how I am a resident of ogden now, but live about 200 yards south of 12th street I wasnt bothered by it, although my water has alot of sediment in it now. Toilet looks dirty before I use it.

But did you see the water pipe on the news? What a rusty crappy pipe, even on the inside where drinking water is. Questionable...

Questionable...
Time for an R.O. system?

The Standard Examiner reported that the pipe in question was about 70 years old.
