i already asked my parents if we can all come up as a 16th birthday present to me
We do not have to be naxja members to attend? we just have to pay the entrance fee
also we will most likely have no jeep yet so i will most likely be looking for ideas for my rig.

No you don't have to be a member, just pay to get into the park, a few waivers and as long as the rig you come in has tow points and a few other things you're good to go.

Sure sounds like fun, though--we'll see how things look closer to the event. If you can make it for multiple days it's definitely worth it. I've gone down from NH the last two years in a row. My first year took me I believe just over 13hrs one way (to Paragon at the time). 4.88 gears and 30" tires had my top speed way down and gas mileage in the single digits...

It was a mess of problems, some of which I still haven't figured out. Once it warms up enough for me to work on it outside again I'll be tearing back into it. At this point I want to get the exhaust fixed back up and replace the entire wiring harness, ECU, and TCU. See if that does anything.
Good news out of this is that since my Jeep's been down I ended up getting a VW Passat as a daily driver back in the fall. Much better gas mileage and a much quieter ride... :D If worse comes to worst I'll just drive that down and play photographer all weekend. Like I said, one way or another I'll be there...

hey andy,
i try to wheel at least once a month. i've been wheeling 18 days in the past 16 months, most of them at RC. probably would've been a few more days of wheeling had paragon not closed. :(
i'm going to try to make this event. however, i will have just returned from a three-day wheeling trip at the Big Dogs Spring Fling, so god only knows what condition my rig will be in.

To make a long story short, I bought a DD when my Jeep blew up, and since I had that to drive, the Jeep didn't get fixed. It's been sitting at my parents' place for more than a year now. But I got back in touch with a high-school friend who's a serious welder, and a better mechanic than I am, and he and I are going to fix up the XJ.

He'll be back in early May. I'm almost ready to take the engine out, I just don't have a hoist. I'm going to go home tomorrow and pull the t-case and get some of the other odds and ends out of the way. Who knows, maybe I'll get impatient, rent a hoist and pull the thing next week.
I really, really want to get my XJ driving again. I swapped in new axles late last summer (non-disco 30 and an XJ D44, both with 3.55s, to replace my disco 30 and c-clip 35, both with 3.07s), and the motor went before I could go wheeling with them.

Went home today and found that since I'd last been home, my brother's bought a 17 gallon compressor, air impact wrench and air ratchet, and my dad's enrolled in a welding class (and will buy a mig welder when he completes it). Sweet. I wasn't able to take the t-case out though; damn unprotected and mutilated crossmember doesn't want to come off.

You don't have to pre-register, but it is easier if you do. You can decide at the last minute if you need to. The BBQ and raffle is always a great time, so if you want to just come down for two days or even just the day Saturday, that is fine too.

So assuming I do the NAXJA 1 yr membership thing + stay at Echo valley Fri/Sat/Sun + preregister + event fees + wheeling fees + RC membership fees ... (um ... did I miss any fees?) How much am I looking at?
Edit: If it makes a difference, I plan to wheel Fri/Sat, & if nothing's broken, I'll go out again on Sunday.
