Will an '84 gas tank skid fit a 2000?

I've got a junk '84 XJ out back that my uncle used for parts on his, well it's got a tank skid and mine doesn't :shhh:

Would it fit? I'd sure love to have one before cleghorn this weekend. I'll go grab it and throw it on today

The tank size changed in '96. I found this out a while back when I removed a skid from a pre-96 Jeep at a salvage yard and attempted to install it on my '99.
