Heater Control value

I keep breaking these cheap plastic junk and was wondering if somebody came up with a brass replacement and if yes from where?

You don't technically need the valve. 97+ doesn't have one.

Although A/C efficiency without the valve is debated.

I don't have any pictures of mine, but all I did was get a 3/4" brass ball valve, and some barbed fittings for the ends. Spliced it into some new heater hose to replace all the custom bent crap in there, and called it good. It really only gets turned twice a year, closed in the late spring when its starting to warm up enough to use the AC, and opened again in fall when the nights get that chill to them. If I had to do it again, i'd probably just leave the whole thing out... not sure how much it really helps!

Yes it does help..In TX it gets hot here so the ac gets used all the time.
