I have an 85 XJ 2.5 4cyl that I'm debating on keeping... It's been losing power.... I'm thinking of upgrading to a Weber carb, but some of the threads I've read suggest that there might be emissions issues. Any further clarification would be appreciated. Also, what would you say are the cons (if any) of Weber carbs? Thanks!

cost is about the only one. I switched to the weber on my first xj and it was great. Better cold weather, and overall driveability.

I have a K552 Weber Carb that's about 1 1/2 years old,maybe 3000 miles ran
through it with K&N filter.
For Sale -$225
It worked really good for me till the engine died.

I'll keep posting as things come back to me, it's been awhile since I had it. The install was really easy, went on in about half a day for a beginer mechanic. One issue is that depending on the XJ the air cleaner may hit the hood. Mine never did, but others had this problem.
