Summit racing has pretty good prices, but they were out of stock on all brands for my 27 spline 8.25. So after a little googling I found drivetrainoutlet.com They are in Placerville, CA which is closer to me than summit. They got even better prices than summit. I'm just waiting to here back to on availability and I'm going to hopefully place an order. Check it out this link for the 29 spline axle: http://www.drivetrainoutlet.com/Jeep_Rear_Axles-97_up_Cherokee_XJ.html

I got my 29-spline 8.25 Superior shafts from Summit. They had said that it would take 3 weeks. But they now have three warehouses. So they sent one from Ohio and one from Nevada, and I had them within one week.

Machinewave got great prices! I shoud have gave them a call on the rear I need. Anyhow, I talked to Bruce at http://www.drivetrainoutlet.com/ earlier today and he has 8.25 axles in stock. He's gonna have the Alloy USA brand axle I need for my 8.25 27 spline to my house by the weekend. Cost was $.99.61 delivered to my door which seem a good deal to me. I think the 29 spline one is the same price.

That's just for one axle shaft, right? Not a bad price at all though.

Just for one rear. D30 axles seem to really cost the bucks. Drivetrainout Alloy USA fronts are more than the machinewave yukons at $499 a kit. Are all chromo axles the same or is there difference between brands? For my D30 needs Crawldaddy hooked my up with J&W jeep wreckers http://www.jwjeep.com/. The price was good! So I'm running around with some spares and tools for much less. Downside for saving the $$$ is I still got stock axles up front so no upgrade for the money but the :moon: is covered.

The alloy axle shaft are supposed to be 25% percent stronger than OEM. But then again the locker may make it a tradeoff there.

With 33's and a locker I've only broke one OEM axle and split a big rock in 3 piece doing it. Apparently mashing the gas peddle over big rock doesn't always have a good result with the 8.25 axle. From here on out I plan on getting out and taking a look if I'm stuck and my spotter says to keep going for it. :D

Nick, I recently got the newest Summit catalog. They list the Alloy USA shafts, bearings and seals(kit) for $209-. Thats hard to beat with no tax and I think I still have a $20 gift cert. that needs to be used by Sept.( that might cover your shipping)

IIRC, there arent many Alloy shafts for the 8.25. I purchased the 1430 hardened steel for the 8.25.

IIRC he said he was closing up for OUTSIDE business, but not for the SOCAL crew. Call it SELECTIVE business practice. :D
