Actually, now that I've gotten home and saw the news, it tore some stuff up pretty good. katu.com has a video of some coverage on the front page.

I was sitting in my Jeep around 12:30 in Vancouver, and heard some nasty thunder and saw a huge black cloud to the North. Never would have guessed I was looking at a tornado!

Also, I think WesternXJ lives pretty close to the area that was hit. Hope all is intact!

well, it missed my house by a half mile. Just up the road there is trees in laying on a house and just up the road from that there is trees split in half and roofs almost gone. You may say its all hyped up for news and i agree this isnt a f5 from oklahoma but to be considered a f2 in vancouver washington and look the way it did from the footage, this was pretty crazy. When i got the news i was looking at a pretty good funnel cloud in gresham that had my scared. Two years ago i follwoed a small funnel cloud with a tornado in the ridgefield area of vancouver. Its prety amazing to be right under the storm and or real close! Im just thankful my property is okay and i wish the best for the ones around me I know with some serious damaged property on there hands.

I corrected myself a couple posts later.

I'm glad to hear your house is still standing!

That thing was heading toward my place but veered off thank god. It was coming down 78th and i live 78th and sifton area. Had me scared cause i was at work in clackamous. Both my kids schools were locked down and they made all the kids stand in the halls against the walls away from the windows. My youngest one said it sounded like a jet going overhead with loud booms. Of course it was just the cloud storm that came over, then it touched down again in brush prairie just north east of my house by a couple miles.

That's a strange coincidence, I was just wondering if you had faired ok...I was gonna text you and make sure.

Is it bad that I was imagining you...feet flying in the wind hanging onto a tree going "We love it here!"
