Looking for parts? All of us have those one or two items that we just can't get our hands on. This thread is for listing those elusive parts that we could use help in locating. This thread IS NOT for posting stuff you have you want to sell or give away. There are already places for that, sending a PM would be even better. If you find (or have) an Item on someone's list, contact them back channel, Let's try to keep the thread easy to read.
Yeah, right, like that will ever happen!
My Can't find it list:
1 @ Metric Ton badge of an MJ.
2 @ Interior "B" pillar lamps that still have the retaining clips.
1 @ Straight Chrome (OEM) rear step bumper or end caps.

EDIT: If we could edit our own posts (this thread only) it save a lot of reading, buuuuut ...... :roflmao:

OK, I'll play!
1) A spare A/C Compressor Replacement Idler Pully and bracket for same (I don't need the compressor mount bracket - just the one that mounts the pully.)
2) 2.46L XJ or MJ alternator mounting bracket (at least one.)
There's probably more, but that's what I'm looking for off the top of my head. Bay Area boneyards just plain SUCK for XJ/MJ stuff...
Tim - on a hunch, I just went through my box of XJ/MJ brass - no "Metric Tonne" brass. Sorry!

Just TJ, that is if you want the brackets already installed. An XJ one would work but the brackets would need to be installed. The ZJ 44 is aluminum, it uses the same bearings/seals as a D35, not to mention very low aftermarket support.

Thanks Mike. I had my axles mixed up. My preference is a D44 for the TJ. I do not know where to get a bracket kit for the TJ to mount onto an XJ axle. The ZJ axle I was thinking of is the 8.25. I am not sure that I want to build up a D35 that exist int he TJ today. I am reviewing this option though. I saw the Super 35 kit (Superior w/ ARB) and the D35 Super Truss. Pretty sweet sounding, but I have heard many horror stories around the D35. But, I have also heard of folks running the D35 for years with no issues.
Thanks again,

It's best just to delete that connector block man, from both the axle end and the transfer case end. If you fine one that doesn't leak it WILL. Just snip it off and use short lengths of rubber hose to mate the plastic line to the goods.

Hey all I was at Pick your part in sun valley today, they had quite a few XJ's and MJ's there... no dana 44's or I'd have one right now. There are a couple of good rear hitches if you're the incredible hulk and can get them off. I scored a factory skid plate... 1/3 ain't bad.
There's a 91 or so 4 door Sport that just got there the other day, had alot of good parts, very unmolested thus far. I wanted the doors but didn't have any torx bits.
Just thought I'd give you all a heads up.

An idea I've been kicking around - Works in Progress Parts Exchange!
I'm thinking/planning to build a page on the WiP site, listing parts I've got, parts other "parts depot" people have, and just doing things on a more-or-less "straight swap."
Granted, most of the stuff I've got right now is RENIX-era, but I'm working on it. How many of you are interested?
This would be a "junkyard watch" thing - just more of a "Here's what I've got - what will you give me for it?" sort of thing. Could be a useful way to get something you need, while getting rid of something that you don't need (but someone else probably does.)
I would administrate the page - and I can relay comms for other participants, or put your email up directly - but I've got to do something with all the parts I've got, and I thought it may prove useful to others. What say you?
Oh - and anyone I've offered up stuff to in this thread - would you please PM me a reminder? I've been "all fluxed up" for the last few weeks, and it's starting to sort itself out - so I may have lost a few things...

It'd probably be better to just recover your headliner than to get a new board - you're not going to find a clean one easily and the transportation is an issue (for some reason the board is as big as the cabin ;)).
Just go to a fabric store, you can easily find the fabric (had a foam backing) and buy enough to cover it (measure ;)). Then remove your headliner board, peel the old liner off and then clean the board (a stiff nylon brush will do well here). After that just spray it down with 3M adhesive (can be foudn at auto parts stores) and put the new headliner in. Trim to fit with about 1/2" overlap at the forward edge, you'll fold this over.

Time for me to finish what I started. It’s time for flat top Dana 60 knuckles. Actually from the inner “C”s clear out to the discs and calipers. I would prefer a five on 5.5 lug pattern but I am not even sure they came in anything other than 8 lug. I wonder what they would say if I showed up at the check out counter after cutting them off at the axle tubes? :D “No really buddy, I cut them off of the bent housing of a gutted Dana 30”. Hehehe

Mike,
The yard on Figueroa near you, Pick and Pull I think, has two HO Jeeps, I'm unsure of the year.

Looking for a steering box used or a good place to get one rebuilt cheap. How easy are the kits to rebuild yourself?

the kits only include all the seals you would need to re seal the box, if you are having some kind of mechanical issue with it you would need to get it rebuilt, or rebuild it yourself. steering boxes are expensive so try to find a junkyard one first. a rebuilt one from napa would cost you over 200 bux, but then you get a warranty. good luck.

I am looking for a Dark blue hood for my 2000 XJ. The paint on mine is peeling off. I figure it might be cheaper to get one from a junk yard rather than getting it repainted.
