Engine swap compatibility???? 87 to 97

Hey Y'all!!

I'm in desperate need of an engine for my 97 4.0L I6 5-spd Jeep TJ.

An offer was made of a **free** 87 xj which supposedly runs well

I am considering swapping in the block.

So I will need to use the 97 (obd2) head. otherwise will this work?

The xj is an auto....I would like to attach that engine to a AX 15 5spd...so I will need some sort of custom or adaptor pilot bearing....right? Anyone know more about this, where to get it, specs?

Also I will be putting on the flywheel from the manual...how do I know that is is oriented correctly to avoid vibraton?

Is there anything else I am missing or forgetting here?

THANKS!!

One of the bolt holes is offset, so the flywheel will only bolt up one way.

The '87 block won't have locator dowels on it for the head. Not a big problem, just have to align the head by looking down the bolt holes. I did the reverse of this while putting a '95 head on an '03 block.
