Got a new laptop, replacing my Dell 600m. I had it for about 6 months before my parents bought it off of me for my sister. It was decent, didn't like how fragile it was. Performance was good though, for it's intended purpose. Moving right along to it's replacement. PowerBook G4 Titanium. I love it so far, makes a nice match to my G5. It's a 1 GHz, 40 gb HD, 1 GB RAM, running the latest version of Tiger. Didn't need a hugely fast machine as my G5 is the work horse. If it proves to be slower then I am after, I'll bump it to 1.33 GHz, no complaints as of yet though.

This thing is four years old. Been messing around with it all day, and it hasn't givin' me one bit of trouble. Running as smooth as I expect it to. Not bad for $800. Thinking about bumping it to 1.33 GHz and throwing in a 7200 RPM 80 GB hd just for the hell of it.

It was never INSTEAD of CO Fest, one had nothing to do with the other. The money for this has been put away for a long time. It was just a matter of finding one still in great condition. Which proved to be very difficult for a four year old laptop. Apparently everyone isn't as anal about their electronics as I am..................:D

goin to college next year, think you posted in my thread about new macs.

well now im runnin a brand new Macbook pro, 2.16ghz, 2GB ram, 100gb hard drive etc etc..........oh man it hauls ass. could not be happier with it.

i always found the g4s to be way too slow for my liking, but i love those powerbooks.

Its used for chatting, surfing the net, and music, thats it. It's fast enough for what it needs to do...........................:thumbup:
