After much debate about what to get for getting around - which included possibly getting a Ranger (don't judge me), a yota truck (again, don't judge me), I finally ended up finding the Blue Pearl..... arghhh. :scottm:
I just can't get away from the benny's of having an XJ- :woohoo:
Anyhow, I'm back in the game with my new found love............. here's some stock flexing for you with both sway bars connected....

I think this Jeep's only getting 3.5 inches of lift and 31's- locked and armored as well.
Thanks for checking out the thread and I am looking forward to JV and Big Bear in the coming months/years.:sunshine:

Thanks- I am the 2nd owner- even verified by the Carfax and dealer VIN cross check- the guy that owned it before me was an older guy who basically used it as a grocery getter. It's pretty pristine inside and out. I'm sure it won't stay that way for much longer.
I'm just really stoked to find such a nice stocker to start with.- It just turned over 130K.
Baby steps with this one....baby steps. This time when I go to build it up, I am going to take all the precautions I didn't take with my last 2 XJs.

nice looking rig. 3in lift? Why not go to 5.5 if you want to do JV?

5.5 inch RE Long-Arm is tempting, although a 4.5 inch RE with TnT Custom Long Arms might do just as well. I think I want to start with a 3.5 SA setup and keep my rig out of the big rocks for a while. I want something that will do the majority of trails at Big Bear since I didn't get to go last time. I also don't want to dump a ton of money into this XJ as it is my DD.
Thanks for the suggestion though. I am going looking to lock the front and LSD the rear in hopes of getting most places I need to go without having an excessive amount of lift and tires.

It ran me about 4K- bought it from a second hand lot down the road from where I live. I had a budget of 5K or less and this worked out wonderfully. I have been doing the minor upgrades/fixes that a vehicle of this age and mileage needs: B&M tranny cooler/flush and fill tranny/flush and fill coolant/seafoam/high mileage oil/upgraded air filter. Just the nice things to do to a well deserved rig. I was looking for a black or red XJ, but when I saw this one, I was sold. Thanks for checking the thread,

Yeah. Looks real clean. If I would have come across it I would have been REALLY tempted to buy it myself.

Nice rig man. Im love building Jeeps. I sometimes with I could start all over with mine again, but I would do the same thing. I just like doing it. That is why I make an excuse every weekend that im not wheeling to work on it. :eeks1: :eeks1:

Wow. Looks real clean. Pride of ownership evident in the condition you bought it in is a factor that is often overlooked. Instead we fall into the trap of getting a OK Jeep for 1 or 2 K, and in the long run have more time and money in it. Enjoy and hope to see ya on the trails

Thanks for checking it out- good point you have about the pride of ownership- I didn't want to have to settle so I did a little more research this time and waited a few days before I commited to buying it. I want to do this XJ up right, taking the time to check everything and not cut corners as I have done in the past.
:arrowr: As for you Dustin(fdsa487)- I got my tranny cooler in yesterday and my wife is going out of town next weekend, so it's on like Donkey Kong if you can get the time to come over and help out. I will be installing a hitch that weekend as well.

Alright, I like it Coullt! It looks just like mine did a year and a half ago. Thanks for the well wishes, and hope you can make it up this way soon, that'd be awesome. It's great up here so far. They are actually having a NW fest up here this weekend, but I found out about it too late. Gonna miss wheelin with you, rob and scott though. It was a lotta fun. Oh, were you with us when I lost my wedding ring at corral canyon a few months back? Well, we went back out there to try and find it, (didn't succeed), and the whole area was closed cuz of fires that had gone through there. Anyway, good to hear from ya, wish you and Gabi well, and hope to see ya up here if you're up this way.
