i just bought an 1988 cherokee with the 6cyl for 600 dollars. runs great but two things, i have oil in the air filter box and one more does this year have a check engine light?

thanks for any help.

happy holidays

If you clean out or replace the small tube that comes out of the top of the valve cover, much of the oily air filter will disappear. There is a retrofit kit from Jeep to help deal with also, if normal cleaning doesn't clea most of it up. The big tube from the valve cover rarely gets clogged.
There is something like a check engine light, but fairly primitive, the only tie I#ve seen mine light was when my alternator failed (I have the full gage cluster).
