im eventually gonna run 33's and awanna regear my axles. I was thinking of usind either 4.56 or 4.10. which is better for a daily driver. i live in hesperia so i have to drive up Cajon summit(15fwy towards Vegas)elevation 4300 ft. what would be the rpm's at 65 mph on a straigh hwy with 4.10 gears and 4.56 gears? would the gas maileage suffer a lot? right now i have 3.55 gears and running 31's with a 3" lift and average about 2100 rpms around 70 in overdrive. most of my driving is freeway anyway.

Wether you live on flat land or in the mountians, 4.56 would be the best with 33's. Leaves improvement toward 35" down the road.

i went 456 with 33"s. i am very pleased but almost wish i'd gone with 4.88's for crawling.

don't have a second thought about the 4.10's......go with the 4.56's !!!!!!!

With 33's and 4.56 at freeway speed...and as I've clocked it from a friend in a honda following me, at 65 my speedo reads 72 and is running at just a hair over 2500 rpm.

Gained 1-3 mpg highway, depending on how heavy my foot was. You should get around stock, and better than what you are getting now.

Less stress on the engine trying to rotate tall tires with high(numericly lower) gears. This is with an AX15 btw.

Actually, I think I'm getting anywhere from 12-17 miles per gallon...hard to say since my speedo is still slightly off. but then again, I do mostly city driving. I will say, with the bigger tires, it becomes a lot more sensitive to your right foot. you drive like a granny and you'll do ok; you drive like you're in a sports car, expect single digits.

Your milegae should be real close to stock. I got 17 average MPG for the whole trip to and from Moab last year....towing a 1500lb trailer. That included over a hundred miles in the dirt. I would say my normal is about 14 town/17 highway. If I drive slow (like when I have a trailer) and keep it on the highway, I can still crack the 20mpg mark. Yours should be no different, maybe even better with only 33's.

from a scale of 1-10 how hard are to put in gears in a 8.25 and a 30? wut is a reverse rotation mean? is that for the front axle or the rear?

It's real easy...if you pay someone else to do it for you.

On a scale of 1-10, it's definitely a 10. There are special tools that are needed. Not to mention special skills and experience.

4.56 or 4.88 if 33's is your plan. You do 4.10's you'll hate yourself later.

Yep, I'd second Rawbrown for you gears as well. He did mine and I haven't had a single issue.....and he brews his own beer you can drink if you assist! party1:

Unfortunately, I don't think hesperia is any too close to us...actually just did a yahoo! maps search....yer lookin' at about 150 miles....but if his work isn't worth it, his high octane blueberry mead IS! =)

I did my lift myself. Just by myself.. It took about 4-5 days working 2-3-4 hours after work each day. The 95 had alot of seized bolts. I used quite a bit of that PB rust Blaster stuff.. I can't remember what it's called but the last time i was on here I received quite a bit of help. But that's been about 5 years ago..
