I was told by a co-worker who has an XJ that the stock MJ shackles are longer than the stock XJ shackles and thus will give an XJ about an inch of lift. Is it true?

I just did it on my 98... took the shackle off my 88 and put em on.
Bout 1/2 inch of lift. The shackle is about 1 inch longer.
