4WD linkage

My 4WD linkage is lined up with the tranny tunnel. There is a bracket that is in between the linkage and the tunnel that has a little green spacer that is about a half inch to low to line up with the tranny tunnel and the 4wd linkage. Someone told me that my tranny mounts and motor mounts were shot. I replaced them and they were bad but not the cause of the problem. anyone ever bent that bracket for the 4WD linkage? .....if so can it be bent back..replacing it looks like no fun..Thanks
