Ongoing hatch problem

Ive had problems with my 98 XJs hatch, the latch wouldnt open. so ive been pushing on the hatch and openning it that way. Then one day the handle inside broke. So to get the hatch open i took the bumper off and cut the striker bolts off to get in. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a fix for the hatch latch or is there any aftermarket latch kits???
And is there a liftgate latch lock motor out there or are those extra wires there for nothing?

My 2000 XJ's rear hatch seems to also be going out. I have to puch down on the door then pull up on the handle most of the time to even open up the back. What a piece of crap.
