I have a 87 xj with a 2.5 and a 97 xj that i rolled with a 4.0. How hard and what all would i have to do to swap the 4.0 into the 87 xj? What about all of the wiring/motor mounts/misc? thanks

Yes it can be done. You will need the engine wiring and the PCM out of the 97 but I would use new motor mounts.

This is the part that bolts to the frame and the engine mounts bolt to.
You may want to install the newer dash while you’re at it.
How hard well it will be work.. many hours but if you wrench on you stuff and know what your doing it will not be to bad, if you have a couple friends that know what there doing you could do it over a weekend.
