231 TxCase question

What's this threaded passage for? It's located on the backside, tail housing. This is pasage is not on my 2000XJ.

For some reason the threads are not present in the photos.

i believe thats where the vacuum disco switch is on the xj's with that front end, looks familiar to me any way.

Here is a pic of what Im talking about. And it depends on what year for the vacuum switch.

Yup - that's the shift rod fork, and it actuates the vacuum switch on the older XJs.

OK I bought this mostly because it had a SYE. It's going into the 2000 that doesn't have a disco axle. Can I just plug it and call it good? or will the shifting of the TxCase be affected.

You should be fine. Plug it so it doesnt leak.

I believe there's also the electric plug switch for the XJs with non-discos that screws in there as well.

Usually the SYE kit just comes with a plug for the hole if you dont have the disco actuator. I remeber because the rod on mine came almost all the way out to the plug and nearly hit it. Other than that there is nothing else that goes in the hole on non-disco's.
