MJ rear bumpstops

Crown automotive rear bumpstops for the XJ listed by qtec and jeep4x4center include a 2.9 inch and a 4.1 inch rear bumpstop. The 2.9 inch is apparently for the stock XJ, at least it is on my XJ.

I suspect the 4.1 inch is actually the stock MJ size. Can anyone confirm or refute that?

I just measured mine and the best I could get was 4 to 4.25 inches. These are from an 89 Metric Ton MJ.

I have MJ bumpstops on my XJ and they are longer for sure. I never actually measured by I could see them being 1 to 1.5 inches longer. Bolted right up and never had any problems with them.

those could also be the "up country" ones....

That is the stock MJ bumpstop. I run them spaced about 4" off the frame. They work.

Thanx. That's just what I was wondering about. The MJ bumpstop, according to one article I've read, is well suited to the XJ with a budget lift.

So you are thinking the 4.09" are the stock MJ's and the 4.61" might be an "upgraded" MJ bumpstop?

The taller BS I referenced above would presumably be the 52002939. I don't know what the intended application of the 4.61's would be. I would assume they could be used on XJ's though, at lift heights of 3 or 4 inches.
