Front Driveshaft

Ok I have a problem with my front DS. I have an 86 XJ with the CV style front DS. I am on my 3rd one! I keep blowing my CV joint out after about 3 months or so. I have a 4" lift on my XJ and I have adjusted the DS everytime I put another one on there.

Is there something I am missing? Or is there a way of doing a conversion to a newer style DS?

do you have the can and stick type??? I think that you can just throw a newer style XJ front shaft in there to replace it, although I'm not positive.

Yeah I guess you can call it "can and stick type" Well thats what it looks like to me. But not from what I can tell I can not throw in a newer style (double u-joint) cuz of the way it mounts to the out put shaft on the transfer case.

You need to get the front output yoke off a NP231 along with the front drive shaft off a 87+ XJ. The shaft will have to be shortened somewhere in between 4"-6".
