I have a 94 xj that had a blown 4.0. I got a motor from a junkyard and swapped it in. I would like to know if theres any type of identification on it that would let me know what year it is from. Theres no sticker on the front of the valve cover like my old one had.

Also does anyone have any recommendations for good spark plugs to put in an engine that has sat for a while.

new champion truck plugs...4.0L loves those copper plugs...

i believe on the driver's side of the head, there's a casting number...with that number, you can determine what year range it came from...should be a 4 digit number like 0331 or 0630

post it up here....someone will know. I think there's only 3 different ones for the H.O. 4.0L.....something like 91/92-95(07-something?)....96-99 (0630)....then 00-01 (0331)
