oil pan?

I recently purchased a rolled 98 4.0 XJ to swap all the useable parts over to my 88 4.0. Upon inspection, I noticed the oil pan was pretty banged up (looks like the fron axle hit the oil pan when it was rolled). My question is, would I have to worry about any hidden damage underneath the oil pan that may have occured, and will my 88 pan swap over to the 98?

not sure about the swap, but you would should pull it off and check,might have hit the sump.

well, I checked an online store, and their part # was the same for either year, so I guess they should swap. Now I just gotta hope there is nothing damaged under there.
