* - price as of 2/1/2006. Actual prices may vary
I have a feeling you will be paying a good bit more than this.

what made you decide to go with that company? just the price?

to me, price is only one concern when buying a motor. i'd see if anyone here has used them before and their experience.

you could easily rebuild a junkyard engine for less or have a stroker for about that price. Just some thing to think about

what do you want, power, reliability, or both? power is expensive, both is even MORE expensive, reliability is cheap and easy.

Your L6, 4 L, 242 CID Rebuilt Engine will be delivered to any US destination including Tulpehocken, Greenwood, Maplewood and Garland.

Thank goodness. I was afraid they wouldn't ship to Tulpehocken.

ive got a jeep with a strong running motor in the low 100k range, i think like 115k, that we may be able to work a deal on, and im talking really cheap. its still in the jeep so you can hear it purrrrr.

In my opinion I would just rebuild it instead of buying one. If you are worried about the specifics of the rebuild there are plenty of people that can give you a hand. I just rebuilt the head on mine and was really easy to do. Since you will have to take the entire assebmly apart anyway you will get a great apprecation on the internals work.

I did notice that your location is roseville, are you up there ?

Just my .02 cents worth.

yea yea im in roseville im in the sierra chapter too i posted a couple things in the so cal first before know about sierra... new guy mistake :tears: but i figured i would stilk checkin for ur guyses opinion too since so cal isnt THAT far... lol is that ok? still not quite familiar with rules kinda got in trouble for the double post already so sorry in advance everyone. back to the question though i took apart the head once already to replace the headgasket so i cant get that done real easy. but i just want the best and the cheapest option cause even if i can get the motor goin thats in it it does have 240,000 so its kinda at the peak of its life ya know?

Put #1 cylinder at TDC on compression stroke(not exhaust) and the distributor rotor should be pointing just past the #1 spark plug terminal on the dist cap.

Take the spark plug out of the #1 cylinder (the one in the front of the motor), get a napkin or piece of paper towel and get it wet. Roll it into a ball and push it into the spark plug hole, but not all the way into the cylinder. Turn the engine over (preferrably by hand with a wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt) until the wet paper pops out of the hole. Now insert a long skinny screwdriver blade into the hole until it rests on top of the piston. Turn the crankshaft until the screwdriver is at it's highest point. This is top dead center for #1 cylinder. With the engine at top dead center, take the distributor cap off, the contact on the rotor should be pointing at the contact for the #1 cylinder on the distributor cap.
