One thing leads to another ...

So I just finished installing a new camshaft and got the beast rolling with lots of nice power and a deep throaty sound with a completely new exhaust system.

Now the damn thing developed a crunching and popping noise in my left rear brakes or axel. It's worse when moving in reverse and is fine at highway speeds. It also doesn't matter when coasting or under power. Brakes work fine.

It's on a 85, D35 non c-clip and drum brakes.

I'll pull the drumm off tonight for an intial inspection but does anyone one have any advice on what to watch out for (i.e. leaking seals, etc). I hope it's not the bearing.

Thanks in advance.

sounds like a bearing, or a drum auto adjuster?
