Rick, user handle RRT, recently got a "new" XJ. He's the guy who built up my rig than allowed me to swoop in and buy it. He's been running around accumulating parts so that this next rig will be stronger, faster, taller, and of course better than before. But in the mean time his new XJ sits on three studded snow tires and fortunately has a front skid plate ( now dented).
Rick is one of those guys who finds his calm, focus, mental release, Ying yang or whatever you want to call it by wheelin'. So despite the lack of modifications yet completed on the new rig we decided to head up to Walker Valley for some "church time".
If you haven't been there; Walker Valley has two main trails. They both require that you pass a "gate keeper" prior to getting in. So Rick in his non-modified XJ went first..... Then I manged to wedge myself between a rock and a root..... and had to get tugged. Doohhhhhhhhhhh!

Okay Rick. Quit laughing.
We found that Walker was wet and very muddy. It was also quiet. We never encountered rigs on the trails just a few groups of cycles.

There were a few obstacles that were unavoidable:

We both left Red paint on this stump:

This little rock / stump/ mudhole / drop off field was a nasty obstacle as well:

In the end we made it out with some damage and a lot of mud.

And Rick's new Xj had earned it's badge:

And our visit to "church" had given us that Peaceful, easy feeling. Not to mention that getting Rick's muffler ripped off by a root made his rig sound much better :viking: . And those fender flares were coming off any ways....
